I guess you can say that we had a busy month. There are a lot of celebrations in May so we had every weekend booked this month. My mom and I enjoyed an evening out at Stacey's boyfriend's sister's social. It was a first to be having a drink and dancing with my sister and her friends while my mom watched! Of course my shoes weren't as high (although I was able to keep mine on) and I didn't bare as much skin but I enjoyed dancing to a few oldies (ie-Backstreets Back-Alright! haha) The next day was Carson's recital which was awesome. We were so proud of him and he played his songs on a grand piano (for the first time) perfectly. The rest of the weekend was spent raking 2 acres of grass. Yes, we're crazy. It was brutal but nice to spend all day outside with the kids, accomplishing something together. I can't wait till they can help! Carson has started soccer on Monday nights and he enjoys it despite his interesting coach who has never seen a a child in his life...poor guy. The parents just sit on the side and snicker as he talks to these 4 year olds like they're 12 and goes into long winded explanations while they kick the ball around the gym aimlessly. One new mom on Monday summed it up when she said "Is this guy for real?" Oh well Carson is excited because he's the oldest and is running circles around the little ones. Most kids his age are in community club soccer but I thought I'd wait till next spring. Mother's Day was nice. We had a busy lunch with Chris's family at Olive Garden which I would have enjoyed had I been alone! Not nice, but tough to eat with the little ones anywhere other than McDonald's! Carson had his first field trip at the museum which was weird for me but Caleb and I kept busy at our last playgroup where we usually get together on Wednesdays when Carson is in school. Last weekend we had a great day at my father in law's 60th birthday party. We had a surprise outdoor BBQ for his family and friends and it went off without a hitch. I was in charge of food and that kept me busy shopping and stuff which was nice to have a little project. My sister in law came from BC and it was also great to watch the kids go nuts playing outside all day. Saving the best news for last, I have a new niece! We were shocked to hear that my sister in law Tanis had a baby girl last week as we all expected it to be a boy! What a great surprise! Her name is Taylor and we're excited to throw her into the mix! Well, tonight we are going to see a movie premiere as a family which is rare that a kids movie comes out. It's called Up and looks great in the commercials. Carson has a "Stay and Play" at his kindergarten on Friday and then we'll see what's up for my birthday weekend. Soon we'll be done preschool and then it will be Carson's birthday and after that we can just enjoy summer! Long time coming!! Here's a bunch of pictures of what we've been up to.
Carson at music class, his recital and at preschool. At my mom's work where she had a petting zoo one day. At my Father in law's party having fun with cousin's. Carson with his new cousin and can you spot Chris and Caleb at the hockey game? If you're not a blogger shoot me off an email to let me know you're reading this so I know someone is looking at it!

Thanks to my husband and all his hard work, our bathroom renovation is now complete. We still have shower curtains and stuff to do but I was amazed at how fast it came together. We really like it and I'm thinking maybe we won't use it we'll just keep it pretty. Having one less bathroom to clean was really enjoyable! And yes the tub and toilet are out of the front entrance.

I'm a bit behind on my posts but I will go back to Easter in order to catch up!
The Easter Bunny came to visit our house but oddly enough it was the "God Talk" that was more present. This was great but a bit of a surprise! I had gotten a few Easter books out of the library and when I was done reading the Easter Story of Jesus dying on the cross I asked Carson what he was thinking and he said, "Mom, Teacher Sheri read this story at preschool and then they read it at church so I already know all about this." OK...I guess gone are the days when I am the one that teaches him everything he knows. This is neat but also plenty scary!! Then yesterday Carson suddenly wanted to know how God could be with everyone -"like in the world-like 20 people or something." He said, "Does he split himself into a bunch of pieces?" Yikes! I'm not so sure I'm ready or qualified for all these questions and plus he totally shocked me with how amazing his brain works. Where is the innocence? So I have some homework to do!
I've had a few fun evenings out now which has been nice! I went to the New Kids on the Block concert not too long ago and it ended up being a really great night. The boys still had their touch and the whole arena screamed like crazy. What a time warp! I actually went to their concert back in the day so it was pretty neat. It's cool to relive the fun times of childhood and music always instantly transports you there. Their new music is good too. There were a few cheeseball moments but that made it even better because it was almost like a boyband spoof. Anyways if nothing else it was a night out but I did really enjoy it. Then the other night my mom and Stacey and I went to see 17 Again which was a fantastic movie! It was a last minute plan and I'm glad that I can do stuff like that now! Thanks, Chris! I'm also enjoying the exercise class that I am taking on Thursday nights called Total Tone. Boy am I in rough shape! We won't go into that...
I guess my craziest news is my lovely black eye. Not so lovely at all! It is soooo ugly and it's not so fun leaving my house to show it off. After the fifth day it is still horrible and a nice shade of black and yellow. It's weird because you want to explain it to random strangers but you don't so instead people look at you funny. I never knew that a blow to the head could end up like this! Caleb head butted me while asleep in our bed so it was a nasty way to wake up in the middle of the night. He's fighting with his 2 year molars so I guess he was thrashing around a bit and boom right on my temple. Boy did it hurt! Too bad it lasts so long, I'm not even sure we can go out tonight for Chris's birthday.
Anyways, that's my "excitement" for now! It's probably best I just stay home and continue my spring cleaning!

Yes we're still cold here but at least Mr. Sunshine has graced us with his presence. The boys were begging to go outside so here are some cute pics of them riding their bikes. The other pic is the state of our bathroom right now. The guy is coming to do the tile tomorrow so it shouldn't be much longer. I'll post a video of Caleb yelling at a few flies that gathered on the pillars on our front steps. What a kid!

Well, the house is quiet which is welcome but weird. I'm suffering from my 3rd migraine in 6 weeks. Every second weekend and it's getting a little old. Unfortunately they are worse than I have had since Carson was born and I am ending up with my head in the toilet. I sure wish I knew why. I was sorry to miss church this morning but Chris didn't hesitate to take the boys so I got to rest with no noise which helped as well as give my prescription pills a chance to kick in. Anyways, Chris has taken Carson to the hockey game at the arena and Caleb is sleeping. The week was an interesting one with a huge snowstorm that kept us indoors the day I was supposed to get together with my old roommate from Providence who has been in Kenya for 3 years. Luckily I saw her the next day and had a great visit, kids and all. We also spent time with another college friend and it's so great catching up. Friday we got to see the friends we made in Cancun as they were in Winnipeg for their daughter's hockey tournament. The boys were thrilled to see them and it was also neat for them to watch these 12 year old girls play hockey! Yesterday I enjoyed a visit without kids to a friend's to see her new baby and I spent the morning making her homemade chicken noodle soup-which I hope she and her family enjoyed! Later we went to the World Of Wheels at the convention center which ended sadly when we realized that Lightning McQueen from "Cars" was not there this year. This week is spring break so we will not have school or music lessons but will hopefully get together with friends who are normally busy with school. And we will just keep waiting for spring...

A month-yikes! I was kinda waiting for some pictures my mom has on her camera but that's a bad excuse. I'm glad it's March but nothing has really changed in terms of weather. Spring is closer as we turned the clocks forward. To me that means Chris gets home and it's still light. The highlight of February was my baby's 2nd birthday. We had family over and enjoyed the whirlwind of supper, presents and cake. I actually made the cake which was quite hilarious but hey I tried! This is such a cool time for a toddler. Caleb is a joy to watch and be around. First of all he's adorable and the things he says shock and amaze me and keep me in stitches! They say 2 1/2 is when they get more defiant so I will enjoy this time while it lasts. Caleb pees on the potty no problem so we are encouraging it but not pushing it. We've been down this road before and know how difficult it is but Caleb seems to understand how it works. It's funny to see Carson help him. The two of them are interacting in a whole new way and is sweet and frustrating. They play nice sometimes but also fight alot. They are becoming quite the tag team of whiners. Over all it is actually a delight to watch them grow and learn and I must admit that I am growing quite comfortable in my role as "mom". I can't believe Carson will soon be in kindergarten! Next week we have our meetings at 2 different schools but we lean more towards the french school. What a huge decision this feels like! Chris is always busy at work and has built an extra service bay in the back of Autotown as they are very busy with their service department. We have also begun a renovation project in our main bathroom and hope it goes smoothly. It was time to get rid of the burgundy fixtures and take it into 2009. Always things to do. While Chris stays busy at work I try to keep the boys busy with lots of playdates with great friends. That's what keeps me sane is spending time with other moms. Well, that's it for now as I hear screaming and will interject with a nap for Caleb. Here are some pictures.

Autotown Commercial

Hello from Winterpeg. I got a laugh today as I did some research for Kindergarten and bus service. It said that the bus is only cancelled when the temperature reaches -45 or colder. Wow we are a hearty bunch. I talked to my good friend who recently moved back to England and they just had a big dump of snow and basically everything shut down. Well, we may be hearty but even we are getting a little tired of the cold. I feel bad saying that since I was lucky enough to get a 2 week break from it but it is getting annoying and so is this bad cold I can't seem to shake. Anyways, that's it about the weather. I wanted to quickly post a video of the boys singing their daddy's commercial. Autotown recently started a new ad campaign on several radio stations and the song is quite catchy! We often hear it throughout the day and the boys enjoy singing it around the house. Sometimes I have to remind myself how priceless things are because you get so used to hearing things all day. Caleb turns 2 in a few weeks and is talking really well. It's special when your kid says "I love you too mommy!" So here's a taste of my boy's and their cuteness.
