That unfortunately was not an open invitation-sorry! Just found a cute way to send out Carson's invites. He is also having a few friends at the zoo and then our family over the next day. Anyways, I was just a tad proud of myself for using technology and creating this cute way to send an invitation and it said link to blogger so I thought why not? And besides, it took me all day...

Last week ended up being pretty busy with errands and extra curricular activities and of course the dog kept us pretty busy! We're learning but definitely have a lot more to learn. It's a bit wild around here lately that's for sure. Last week Chris had a car displayed in the mall and I took a bunch of pictures that I wanted to share. We also enjoyed Carson's piano recital on Saturday and were very proud of him.

Soccer star
Carson had his first soccer game this past Monday and really enjoyed it. I was sorry to have missed it but Chris took some nice pictures. Then on Wednesday the game was canceled due to wet fields. We were disappointed but were busy with music lesson and it was also freezing outside. We ended up having a busy night anyway as our cushion flew off the boat on Chris's way home from getting it polished. We searched everywhere 5 minutes later but it was nowhere to be found which was really annoying. Maybe someone picked it up? We just don't know but it sure was a dumb thing. Oh well...not too many plans this weekend but some sunshine would be nice! Happy Mother's Day!

May showers...
Of course we had beautiful weather up until soccer starts. That's always the way it goes in Manitoba. We've been counting the days and seconds until Carson starts soccer and this morning there was a little snow that fell and the temp should reach 5 degrees. Last Monday it was 21 degrees! So we will see if they end up canceling it. Carson will be so disappointed if they do. Unfortunately I can not go to his first game as I have a ladies banquet at my brother and sister in law's church tonight with several of my friends. It's a Fiesta theme which is right up my spanish alley! And I guess instead of the tank top I was going to wear I will wear a turtleneck instead! We had an interesting weekend. The boys had a sleepover at Nana's while Chris and I rushed around painting a rental and getting it ready for May 1st. It was the second one we had to do that with last week alone! I've been really learning this business quickly as Chris is way too busy to deal with it right now. Then my mom got the flu so we got the kids in the morning so she could throw up in peace! We got Caleb a new bed in the afternoon and enjoyed setting it up for him. He was so excited! It was for sure time for the switch. The boys have also started their swimming lessons now and are so cute as they get more comfortable. Caleb tells his teacher every time that he doesn't want to put his head in the water. It's so adorable. Anyways, I will post a few pics of swimming and Caleb's bed and a trip to the zoo last week.

Grand Forks
I can never resist a weekend away so when Chris's partner at Autotown was going away to Grand Forks for the weekend, we were happy to go with them. We were just there for Saturday night but we were able to get some quality family time in and of course some quality shopping time in. We were happy to get Carson's bike that we had seen when we went to Fargo a few weeks ago. And bonus it was much cheaper! That was at Walmart and then I also got him some nice clothes from there too. They had the most adorable animal t-shirts for $3.00 that Carson was just over the moon about. Not sure how we get so much shopping in with the kids but I guess they're starting to realize that when we go away to a hotel a lot of shopping goes with that! We didn't have a lot of luck with the pool at our hotel as it was very small and filled with a ton of unsupervised 13 year old obnoxious girls but the hotel was really cute. It's new and modern and the suite was larger and had a king bed and pullout couch which suited us well. As you know I get such a thrill from my deal digging and I was happy to get a winter jacket for 20 bucks and a really cute hoody for 2.99! I also enjoy the cheap groceries - I know my prices in this area - and find it's hard to know where to draw the line. Mostly I just get angry that there is such a price difference, often by half! Anyways, Chris has a lot going on at work and we have a few issues with our rental properties so it was nice to get away from that even if it was just for 2 days.
The kids started their swimming lessons last week and so far so good. Caleb did awesome and was on his own with 2 flutterboards swimming the length of the pool. Soon we will be busier with soccer 2 days a week as well but it's fun to have these activities that the kids can look forward to. Music will be done in a few weeks which is good because it's harder to practice when we would rather be playing outside! I also forgot to mention that Carosn lost his first tooth last week so that was a really exciting event. I was quite sad that my baby lost his first tooth! On Monday we had a great day when Tanya, my cousin and her 2 kids when they came over for a visit. Man, can those kids play! They were just soaked with sweat they were having so much fun playing tag and stuff. Well, I have to go and get Carson from the bus stop, I will try to make my next post about the kids and their growth as opposed to all this shopping!
